Not sure what to say?

Didn't know too much about you. But knew of you. You were a good man.

I believe my dad, Bob Cowles, was Father Bast's administrative assistant at CCS/CSS on Speedway. My dad was a Social Work administrator who specialized in developing social service programs and agencies from mere ideas to fully staffed, federally funded programs or agencies. He always referred to him as Monsignor Bast. Was Charles Bast a Monsignor at the time he was at CCS/CSS on Speedway near Stone?

Dear Mary ~ So stunned to learn from you tonight of Charlie's passing. An extraordinary man -- so loved, cherished and admired by his family and many friends. Our love and prayers are with you as you continue to recover.

There never seems to be enough time. I had talked to Chuck many years ago after moving to Arizona and finding out he was in Tucson but never made the time to meet and chat with him. We were classmates at St Boniface Grade School in Edwardsville, Ill for 8 years (one of the Garde girls). My sincere condolences to your family.

Wonderful memories of you and Charlie and the B&B. We will all miss him...his warmth, caring, and humor. You are in my prayers.

It has been many decades since we were neighbors back on Second Street then later at Leclaire, but I remember the Bast family fondly. I am so sorry to hear of Chuck's (as I remember him) passing. My condolences to all of his siblings.

My prayers are with the family , may God give you strength and comfort in this difficult time.. And may the Good Lord watch over Mary during her recovery.. Trudy (Bast) Snell Edwardsville Illinois
