Not sure what to say?

I still think and talk about Charlie and miss him. I picture him and Tom lounging in the back yard having a beer and talking. I miss Tom,too.

I just learned today that Chuck had died last year, and a bit of my sense of the world as a loving place has evaporated with this knowledge. He was my first boyfriend at Austin High School, and I went to N.I.U. because of him. We grew up together and than apart, but throughout the years I remembered his music and love of life. I was glad to hear he had married and had beautiful children. I'm sure he brought delight to his family. My heartfelt condolences to all of them, and I hope they will...

I am very sorry to learn of Charlie's passing. I worked for Charlie at Huskie Line from 1983-85 as a driver, and then worked with him for many summers designing and creating the NIU Huskie Line Schedule Book during my years at the MidWeek Newspaper. I loved talking music with Charlie since I played guitar and was in bands at the time. That is how I learned about Electric Battista. My only regret is that I never got to see them play live. Charlie was always so kind and supportive. He was a...

This truly saddens me. I was in DeKalb from 1973 to 1978 and I loved seeing them play at the Shamrock and remember when the preformed as Accoustic Battista at Juicy John Pinks.
Haven't been back to DeKalb in years and always thought going to see them play would be a good reason to come back.

My thoughts and prayers go to his family, friends and fans.

I was an Electric Battista afficionado in the late 1970's. The songs they introduces to me stuck with me until this day. Charlie is sadly missed. Wish I could have gone to that last concert. I heard about it a year too late. Much love and respect to his family

Jim Morris told me a story about Chuck. During freshman orientation, Jim and Chuck were hanging out. Jim told Chuck "it sure is great being your sidekick". Chuck said "What are talking about, I'm YOUR sidekick". To me, that is definitive Chuck Battista: as cool a guy as he was, he was always humble. As hip as he was, he NEVER acted "hipper than thou".

Rest in peace my brother.

I was very sorry to hear the sad news about Charlie. Actually, to me he will always be Chuck, because I knew him best during our freshman and sophomore years (67-68). I met him at freshman orientation and we both lived at Douglas initially, back in his pre-Charlie days. We bonded as early members of the Wall People, class of '67. I had the pleasure of almost forming a band with Charlie (along with Jack and Bonz Reedy)in the pre-Electric Battista days. But after maybe two rehearsals, I think...

Dear Marianne,
My sincere condolences to you and your family. In the last several years, Gay would let me know how Charlie was doing. I am of the time of Electric Batista at NIU, & whenever Charlie was playing at the lagoon, it was like the circus had come to town. It is a memory that will always inform my best of times at college.
