Charles R. Beck, Sr., 103, of West Pittston, PA, passed away Thursday, April 18th, at his residence.
Charles was born in Bangor, PA on September 19, 1915, a son of the late Raymond J and Esther S. (Rowe) Beck.
Charles was a self-employed dairy farmer in Mt. Bethel, PA. After that, he worked at the former Collins and Aikman in Pen Argyl, PA. Charles was a graduate of Portland High School. He enjoyed spending his time wood carving, fishing, and traveling the United States.
He was a former member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Mt. Bethel, PA.
Charles is survived by two sons Douglas C. Beck, husband of Emma and Charles R. Beck Jr., husband of Mary, a sister, Ruth Bartholomew, 8 Grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by three brothers Carl, Roy, and Fred Beck, a step bothers Howard Ott and a stepsister Bernice Ott.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 23rd at St. John's Cemetery, Bangor, PA. with Rev. Rodney W. Wells officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.
