Dear Stephen, Sabine and family,
I was saddened to see the obituary of your dad recently. I was an English student of his at Yuba College in 1986-87. Your dad was an amazing person and like a father figure to my siblings and I. We had just moved from South Africa during the Apartheid era. Life was difficult as a family of 8 immigrating to the US, but we were also excited to be here. Your dad offered me a job as a teacher's assistant as I had attended University in South Africa prior, so...

I always enjoyed being around him and think of him often. he will be missed.

I am fortunate to have known him. He will be missed by all who knew him. My condolences to the family.
