Not sure what to say?

March 6, 2025.....Back in 1963 at W.H. GASTON JR. HIGH SCHOOL in Dallas, Texas...I had the privilege as an 8th grader to have Charles Blanton as an ART Teacher. He was incredible as a teacher & a person. Mr. Blanton was very inspiring to me! I went on to graduate from Richardson High School; then, 4 years in the U.S. Navy; then earned my B.S.L.A. Degree in Landscape Architecture in May 1977. I just completed a 42 year career in Landscape Architecture & am now 75 years old. I still to this...

Dr. Blanton was my art teacher when I was in the 7th grade at W.H. Gaston Junior High in Dallas. He taught us basics about art, colors, and drawing. He encouraged us to do something with our talent and believed every one was gifted.
He later was principal for my nephews and niece at Newman.
Forty-five years have passed since those days at Gaston. I am saddened to hear of his passing. It must mean I am getting older.

Charlie was my friend. Friends are always "there"!! Not a "challenge" to small or to large for "friends" to share. For more than 40 years Charlie and I shared a special relationship. No matter the circumstance we found ourself, we could talk honestly, confidentially and knowing full well, we would seek God's leadership first and talk to each other and "hear" what the other had to say... mostly... we never gave advice but gave support. Didn't matter... Listen careflly and give support. ...

Dr. Blanton was a "visionary."
His vision/passion for learning propelled many peers and students to become great servant leaders. He was a good steward of the teaching profession.

A penny for your thoughts.........
Dr.Blanton said that to me back in 1979 as I sat in his office. An hour before our Pep rally was about to start I realized I left my cheerleader bloomers at home. Such a sweet man could break the ice and make a person feel comfortable under any circumstances....My thoughts and prayers to the family of the best principal ever.

May God's peace be with you now and always. We know that Dr. Blanton is in a much better place.

Charlie was my first principal at Kimball High School. He was wonderful to work for, and he always had the kids interest at heart. We had many good times there; I will remember him with fond memories. He gave me a great foundation for teaching.

Mr. Blanton was principal at John Runyon Elementary School the year that it opened. I was a student there at the time. I remember him always on the go with a smile on his face. Now I am a teacher and Mr. Blanton's caring attitude with the students and their parents is one of his traits that I try to copy with the students in my class.
He will surely be missed. His family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with
you all
