Still think of Chuck every time I drive by the old lot. He was such a great guy and good friend to my Dad. He and Virginia were "good people"!!!!!

Oh, I miss Chuck and the opportunity to stop by the shop and visit with him in his messy office! He was such a wonderful friend to my Dad. My folks loved spending time with Chuck and Virginia and always had a good time with them. I miss seeing Chuck Bleeg Motors on Sandy Blvd. and remember Chuck and Virginia very fondly.

Continue to miss Chuck a year after his passing. He was such a friendly, yet kinda gruff guy, who made you feel he was truly interested in you. Sandy Blvd. is not the same without Chuck Bleeg Motors at NE 16th! My warm wishes of fun memories of Chuck go out to his family.

Long ago I had the memorable opportunity to get to know the character and man of Chuck Bleeg and his wife, Virginia, and a few of their family, through his son, Paul, a close friend in San Francisco. This happened most of the time at their home-built Southern Oregon Xanadu just north of Brookings, a family compound that welcomed and nurtured all visitors like the warmest of breezy ocean air and sturdiest of coastal Douglas Fir.
Just like the home that Chuck and his brother, Jerry,...

My heart goes out to the family in this time of transition. You were so very loving in taking him to and fro, knowing just how much the daily pattern meant to him.
I found out that he had passed just this weekend and then, only because I had noticed that he had not been at the lot in a couple months.
Chuck was a man who lived life, as he chose - up until he was ready to turn in the keys. May each of us have such drive and determination. Blessings to the family, Jeffery

Fun Guy. Lots of great memories from as far back as the early 50's when Chuck was on 14th and Sandy and I was on 13th where the Sandy Hut is or was.
Not to many of us old timers left. He will be dearly missed. RIP old timer

I used to drive Sandy boulevard regularly and always saw the Chuck Bleeg motors sign. Then many years passed and I just assumed the business was gone like everything else in Portland that seems to be changing so fast, but no, the sign and the business was still there when I passed recently. Then I caught the obituary in the paper and was amazed by the man and his accomplishments and the love his family had for him. All this took place in a close northeast Portland neighborhood. A family...

To the entire Bleeg family--Praying for peace and consolation in your knowledge that Chuck touched so many people in so many positive ways. He was a wonderful friend, business man, and humorist! And we know how he loved his family! I'm chuckling thinking about Chuck bringing some strawberries and salmon to my Dad in Heaven. Thanks Chuck!
