Dr. Bloom was a wonderfully kind gentleman. I knew him during the last few years that he practiced at MacNeal Hospital with his son Irving. I was lucky to have made his acquaintance. What a class act he was!

My sincere condolences to the Bloom family.As a former patient and neighbor of Dr.Bloom I can say he was a doctors doctor and as fine a gentleman as you could find.I remember Dr.Bloom coming over to the house-must be about 50 years ago now-when me or my brothers were down with the measles or mumps,black bag in hand,rendering care and just as importantly moral support.Even thought its been a long time those memories are just as fresh as if they happened yesterday.To the Bloom kids...

Dr. Bloom was one of the greatest doctors I have ever known. I was his patient from 1958 until he retired. He was also a friend, confidant and advisor. A caring man who was always concerned about his patients. No one (I knew) ever wanted him to retire, but we all wished him the best. I know he was happy when Irving joined him in his medical practice, and so were his patients. He had no problem making house calls when needed - even on New Year's Day! I will never find another doctor of his...
