Charles Clyde Bradburn

Charlie was a great person and true team leader of Brevard High's 1959 and 1960 football teams. The 1960 team elected him co-captain. In my opinion, he was the best offensive center and linebacker in North Carolina that year. I have always had a vivid memory of one particular play during our State Championship game in 1960. The Rockingham's running back was trying to sweep around my end and Charlie came flying in and hit him so hard that the runner fumbled the ball and it rolled straight...

The Bradburns were a legend around Brevard. I had many very enjoyable conversations with Kay about her children and Charlie. They have left a wonderful legacy.

I was a classmate of Charlie's at Brevard High. He was a wonderful, kind man, someone for all to look up to. I'm so sorry to hear about his death.
