Charles C. Briery, 88, of Sun City West, AZ passed away on April 13, 2009. He was born in Topeka on October 17, 1920, and lived in Topeka until retiring in 1981. Charles graduated from Seaman High School in 1940 and began working for Santa Fe Railroad in 1947, retiring as its Valuation Engineer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, L. Josephine (Jo) Sechrist Briery. He is survived by his son, David Briery of San Gabriel, CA, daughter, Linda Beckman of Mesa, AZ, and his grandson, Brendon Beckman also of Mesa. He and Jo became avid golfers and travelers during their retirement. Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 17 at Bunkers Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa AZ 85201. Donations in his name may be made to the Oakland Presbyterian Church, 2810 NE Thomas, Topeka KS 66616.
