Not sure what to say?

Just today I was found out that Chuck had passed away. I knew him as a subscriber to the Kitchen Theatre season and have enjoyed lots of conversations with him about performances there. He always had thoughtful things to say and was enthusiastic even when he had questions about the plays. I have met a few members of his family over the years - particularly recently when he last came to the theater, I knew Phyllis also through the theater. I extend my deepest sympathies to all the Brodhead...

I was deeply saddened to learn of Chuck's death. I have known Chuck since becoming Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in 1974. Chuck was an outstanding leader in the church, thoughtful, insightful, and a superb writer. We were in Rotary together and served on the Ithacare Board. More important than that, he was a dear friend. That friendship continued after we moved to St. Louis where Chuck had family. We treasured the times we met for dinner whenever he and Phyllis visited St. Louis. He...

I'm thankful to have met Chuck. He sponsored my membership in his Rotary club after having put me on the weekly mailing list more than a year earlier. While we didn't get to talk often, it was clear that he cared greatly about the things he invested himself in. People like him are a gift, however briefly they may be in your life.

May the many memories Chuck helped to create bring some happiness to those who were closest to him in their time of sorrow.

We just arrived back to our Florida home and were shocked to see that Chuck had died. What a very special person who always greeted us so warmly. His service to the Ithaca community will never be forgotten and serves as a role model that is hard to emulate. I knew Phyllis as a fellow librarian and treasured friend. After her death Chuck always wrote on his Christmas card to us, he thought of everyone. We wish peace to his loving family.

I feel privileged to have met Chuck Broadhead and his wife Phyllis first through the fellowship dinners at First Presbyterian Church and later as a client.

I will remember fondly the many times that Chuck teased me about my bright outfits that he said he needed dark glasses to protect his eyes from (the brightness).

I will also cherish the few times that I shared our favorite Panera bagels with you. “Definitely, “definitely!!

My sincere condolence...

Chuck was a man of the community, ready for service and ready to make any meeting more thoughtful and humorous. We appreciated his generosity of time and spirit.

Chuck was a friend and one of my few links to Ithaca. I grew up in Ithaca but move away in 1969. I got to know Chuck later in my life through Rotary. He was a friend of my family through the First Presbyterian Church. Chuck was a truly great Rotarian and a good friend. I will miss him.
