Not sure what to say?

We met Msgr Brophy while our mother was a resident of St Ann's home in Grand Rapids. He truly was a compassionate man who instilled comfort and inspiration into those around him. He will be missed, as one of the great people.

Father Charles had to be the last Brophy of his generation. Our mother Marie Brophy Smith, Pt Huron and Largo Fla passed away in 2000. We all were extremely proud of Father charles's accomplishments.

HE WAS A VERY GOOD AND GENTLE MAN,HE TOUGHT US ALOT AS WE WERE GROWING UP AT ST. JUDE. OUR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS ARE WITH HIM.

He was a great man in my life as a child, he taught me about the bible while I was at St. Judes, I always remembered his friendly smile and his truth and believes.I will miss him. He was the Father for my Mothers funeral. She would have liked that as did we. Now there together again.

The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Charles D. Brophy has been my inspiration since I first met him in 1964. He was a man of many accomplishments, and a holy man of God. He was not afraid to walk to a different drum, and reached many people. He had vision for the church. His legacy will live on and on. He will be remembered in my daily prayers and Masses.

Cordially,

Most Rev. Michael J. Hillis, D.D.
