Not sure what to say?

John, Bernie and the rest of the family,

I was sad to see that your dad has passed. He holds a special place in my heart. I will never forget his coaching or your store and the times we had.

Dear Brown Family
My name is Wendell Sherman, maybe you will remember me, I worked with Charlie at the City of Bethlehem. I was advised that Charlie had passed and I am very sorry to hear that. I as well as most people in Bethlehem had a lot of respect for Charlie and the work he had done. He and I spent many hours together trying to solve many problems in the city both when he was in the Streets Bureau and later when he served at Director of Parks and Property. The City of Bethlehem will...

Dear Brown Family,

I was the Program Coordinator of a youth workforce development program at NCC several years ago. My job was to find summer work for a group of inexperienced, at-risk youths who carried baggage that none of us should have to haul at such a young age. These kids were as young as 14 years old and, therefore, subject to child labor law restrictions. Charlie Brown at the Bethlehem Parks Dept was the only person that I approached who was willing to give these students an...

Dear Brown Family:

My sisters and I are sad to learn of the passing of Charlie Brown. He was a very nice and kind man.

We lived at 7th & Spring Sts. and remember him from his corner store. He was always ready to help the neighbors in need - he'd just write in his 'big book' and say - "...okay, just pay me later!"

During one of my visits to Bethlehem, I took pictures of neighborhood places to show to my grown son & daughter - I even told them about Charlie Brown,...

Dear Mrs. Brown, Your husband, Coach Brown, was my very first football coach at SS Simon and Jude back in 1959. I was in 6th grade and while he seemed ,at the time ,to all of us to be the biggest man in the world, it occurs to me now that he was actually quite a young man at the time. i cannot tell you how much we all wanted to play football for him and make him proud of us. In my 7th grade our team was horrible, in fact we did not win a game, only a tie with St. Theresa kept us from...

Dear Brown Family,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Brown. He was truly a role model to us in the St. Cyril neighborhood as we were growing up. It is no surprise to read that he had that kind of impact on everyone he met.

One of my greatest memories of Mr. Brown is when he used to demonstrate the importance of a strong waist lock in wrestling practice. It was amazing to see him grip an 8th grader with one arm, lift him off the ground and leave him flailing in the air....

Dear Aunt Germaine,

I as so sorry to hear about Uncle Chas. You and your family are in our hearts and prayers.
Please let us know if you need anything.
