My dad David Lewis and mom Iva Lewis knew Charlie and Gladys. My dad was sad to read this about his passing but has very fond memories. They knew each other from Eastern Airlines & from 14 years in Saudi. They were good friends.

My deepest condolences to all of you. I will forever miss Charlie and his awesome stories and how he was always freezing during the hot summers here in Canada. I am forever greatful for being able to know Charlie. May he rest in peace with Gladys and some Johnny Walker.

We had the pleasure of being friends with Charlie and his dear wife Gladys for many years. Charlie was a very good cook as well as a story teller. Erich , you did a fine job on the piece about your grandfather. He loved his sons, grandchildren and he thought Debbie was a loving daughter-in-law. He will be missed. Love, Dianne and Harold

Such a wonderful sentiment to an amazing and exciting life. Well written Erich. I'm one of those who did enjoy Charlie's stories, even a 2nd or 3rd time. He may be gone but will never be forgotton.
