Charles Eugene Caldwell

I knew Gene while he was programming at UT-K back in the 1970's. I met him through Ken Brown, then of Eastern Management. Gene was a great guy and an avid outdoorsman. Back he worked all night when he could get time on the mainframes there at UT so he slept during the day. Fairly often the systems could not be taken down and he would have to cancel his planned work. Frequently he would call and ask if I wanted to go for a drive and drive he would! Very sorry to see this notice. Although I haven't seen Gene since high school, I remember him very well as one of the smartest in the class. He definitely lived up to his potential, and it seems had a full and successful life. I remember his love of sci-fi, chess, math, and science. My condolences to the family.
