Not sure what to say?

I'm thinking about Leslie and family at this time. Life long friends. Ed was just a spectacular man.

Mr. Carhart was my childhood friend's dad. He was one of the fun fathers and his sons and daughters loved him unconditionally. Spending time at the Carharts was a real inspiration for a kid who had creative impulses and didn't know how to tap them. My thoughts are with Leslie, Christopher and Chip as they honor Mr. Carhart's memory.

I had the privilege of performing with Ed many times over the years and I am richer for it. He was always upbeat and lifted the band with his attitude and playing. With his "Dixie Dawgs" it was a given that making good music that folks would enjoy was important, but he made sure to let us know it was just as important to have a fun doing it (and we did!). Our sincere condolences to Leslie, Chris and family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences. Ed showed me that you can be young at heart, no matter our physical age. Ed will always remain in my heart as the most spunky, grateful, jazziest man I've known!!

Condolences, I spent many hours on various bandstands with Ed and was a neighbor for many years. Best wishes, John Alexander.

Thanks for being a good friend!!

Our deepest sympathy to Leslie, Chris and family. He had a rich, full and interesting life........ and we can only hope that wonderful memories will keep him forever near. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Hugs, Michael, Karen and Jeff

Ed Carhart was simply the coolest man that ever first came into my life. Leslie and I practically grew up together back in Hialeah and I got to know the family well. He was gracious, generous, had a great sense of adventure and still a little wild streak. He surprised me in that he also enjoyed "our music", a rarity for any grow-up back then. I am sorry to hear of his passing but know that he lived his life to the fullest and in his own way. The quality of the music "up there" has just kicked...
