Charles J. Carroll Jr.

I knew Chuck Carroll from when we went to Syracuse together. I just read his obituary. I am 10 years late. He was an incredible artist. I still have a picture he drew and threw out in the trash. It was a picture of moths. As a friend, I would help him see color. He loved doing the playboy centerfolds in oil on canvas. I would help him with his flesh tones. I am now 70, but in Syracuse School of Art, my nick name was Goldie.

My wife and I were very saddened when we read Chuck's obituary. When we were young, Chuck and I were neighbors and childhood friends. On any given day, back in the '50s, you could find us playing on our Knox St porches in Ogdensburg. My wife remembers Chuck fondly as a fellow graduate of the Class of '66 who, together, shared the same homeroom.
