Charles and I were buddies when we were little. We played, explored, slipped off swimming, and rode the school bus together. He connected with his Center TX schoolmates in recent years with Facebook and email.
May God bless his family

My condolences to the family of Charles. Charles and his family had a store across the street from my family in my younger years and they were the place to go to. May God bless you and comfort you.

I loved to hear Betty tell stories about she and Charles and the family. I think my favorite was when Charles got a little jealous when he thought Elvis Presley gave Betty a nickel to call him when she grew up, at the Louisiana Hayride. Hold tight to your precious memories. God Bless you all

We have been neighbors for over 40 years. Over the years the well worn path between our homes has become overgrown, but the "path" between our hearts is still wide open. We always knew we were welcome with open arms at each other's home. Rest in peace, Dear Charles. I bet you can eat chicken and dumplings in heaven now. Linda and Joe DiStefano and Donovan

I am surprised, and sad, to hear that Charles has passed away. I knew his parents very well -- they rented their store-and-home from my grandfather and from my father.

My heartfelt condolences to his family.
