Stumpff Funeral Home - Crane Obituary

Charles Edward Cole better known as Bo was born March 19, 1941 in Wewoka,
Oklahoma to Edward William Cole and Wellene (Stone) Cole and passed away
peacefully in his home in Republic, Missouri on June 23, 2023.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janetta, one daughter, Christina Marie Black of
Republic, Missouri , one son, Charles Wade Cole of Harrison, Arkansas, a
granddaughter, Lauren Christina Harmon of Republic, Missouri, and a grandson, Cody
Baker of Dolph, Arkansas. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, Jacob,
Makayla, Caitlin, Harper, Peyton, Randall, Annabelle, Hunter, and Emily and one
brother, Sam Cole, of Newalla, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, 3 sisters and
one brother.

Bo served his country in the US Army from 1959 until 1962 or as he told everyone, “2
years, 11 months, and 21 days.”

He began a career in telecommunications upon his return from the Army, and retired in
1993. His favorite spot was at their home on the lake for 34 years. At the end of the
day, you would find Bo sitting in his chair in the yard admiring his little corner of Table
Rock Lake in Cape Fair, Missouri.

He is remembered by a host of nieces and nephews who fondly referred to him as
Uncle Bo and Papa Kranky Pants. His favorite saying was, “Bo knows.” He leaves a
number of friends and relatives including his cousin by marriage, Rick Henry, who he
lovingly referred to as “his oldest son.”

Private graveside gatherings will take place at a future date in both Missouri and
Oklahoma to honor Bo. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Honor Flight of
the Ozarks in his name.

Donations may be made at www.honorflightoftheozarks.org.
