They worked together at Western Electric and stayed friends for decades after the Kearny plant closed.
Mr. Cook gave a nice speech at my Dad's wake in 2011.
I am so glad I knew Mr. Cook.

Our community has lost a gentle and important member of our neighborhood. Mr. Cook was a very caring individual. I will always remember him for his love of poetry and the majestic way he would deliver them at various events. He served for 18 years as Treasurer of the Jersey City NAACP #2086 branch. He was a proud individual and performed this job with humility and dignity. He is heaven's gain and our loss. May he rest in a well deserved peace.
