Not sure what to say?

I met "Mr. Crooks" when I was 8 years old. Leslie and I became best friends in San Mateo, CA. He made such an impression on me as a child. I was scared to death of him, but he always had a soft spot for me and my family. He was the life of a party and I remember many good times in San Mateo, Elk, Sacramento. He was one of a kind and will be missed by many.

Know that we are thinking of you all in your time of sorrow. We only met Mr. Crooks on a few occassions but he always treated us with kindness and friendlyness. Maxine, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your children.

Although I never met Mr. Crooks personally, he certainly had a reputation as someone who spoke his mind. I will always admire him for the fact that, although he was opinionated at times, he had a family who loved him unconditionally. What a lucky man!

Uncle Charlie was one of a kind! I enjoyed visiting with him & Aunt Max whenever I was in Sacramento. He always asked about my kids...which I appreciated. I will miss him and my love & prayers go out to Max, Leslie, Vince, Steve & Bernie.

Charlie was "a man's man". I was his son-in-law and learned to admire him for his forthright views and opinions. You always knew where you stood with Charlie. He always treated me with kindness and great respect. I will miss him.

We will miss you and the interest and kindness that you showed to our family. My Dad could not have had a better partner.

I went to work for Charlie and Paul shortly after they took over the Caterpillar Tractor dealership in No.Nevada. I was with them a few short years, but during that time we became good friends and remained in contact with each other on a regular basis up until his demise. He will be missed and my condolences go out to Maxine, the boys and Leslie. He was a great person. John Charters
