Charles M. Crouch

Funeral services for Charles M. Crouch, 93, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Monday, July 2, 2012 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Reverend Melvin Kempfer and Reverend Caleb Crouch officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park in Longview. Mr. Crouch passed away Friday afternoon in a local hospital. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Charles was born on September 8, 1918 in Erath County, Texas to Claud and Mentie Crouch. After graduating from the University of Texas with a degree in Mathematics he proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps in Counter Intelligence. He worked for 31 years for the National Weather Service as a Meteorologist before retiring in Amarillo, TX. He enjoyed gardening, ranching, doing crossword puzzles, and working on the computer. Mr. Crouch loved serving as a Deacon and Bible Study leader, and he was a member of Longview Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oleta Knight Crouch in 2005; and his parents; and his son-in-law, David Bailey. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters and son-in-law, Ana Joyce and Melvin Kempfer, and Jeanne Bailey; son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna Crouch; 6 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Josh Crouch, Jonathan Kempfer, Joel Kempfer, and Lonnie Wright. A memorial guestbook may be signed online at www.raderfh.com.
