Not sure what to say?

A year ago this evening, I was with Beth when she received the sad news of her incredible Dad passing. Charles was one of the kindest men I´ve ever known. On this day, my friend and all of the Darby & Haizlip family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Charlie and I used to play some tennis together. What a personality! When we first started playing he gave me his business card. "Charles Darby: Tennis Player" I thought the world of Charlie. He was 13 years older, but with his heart and desire to winner the matches were always fun and very competitive. So, in addition to all his other accolades, I would say he was a great sportsman and a fun guy. I´ll bet he´s playing some great tennis in Heaven right now.

Thank you for sharing him with the entire community, one in which he made a big difference. God's peace to all of you.

Our families...Sarah Ann Seabrook Horne and family and Jack Seabrook and family send our love and prayers to Joyce and the entire Darby family. Charles was so wonderful to our Mother for so many years and we will never forget it. Thank you and God Bless You.

This Gentle Giant will never be forgotten. He gave to everyone in his path, that warm smile and caring attitude. Thank you Dr. Darby for my 1st job at MUSC, I will never forget. "Gone from our sight but never from our heart".

I knew Dr. Darby for almost 40 years and was honored to call him a great friend. He always had a smile and was one of the most humble and kind person you would ever meet. I was honored to work with him and will always cherish great memories of our times together.

Sending prayers and condolences to the family. Will continue to keep you in my prayers.
