Not sure what to say?

It had been my distinct pleasure to share times with "GUS" involved in the affairs of the Travelers Protective Association of America " T P A" in Danville Post, the Virginia Division and Nationally, as he used a grand objectivity in arriving at sound decisions on troubling subjects.
It is my personal loss.
As the Nation's "AT LARGE" elected "T P A "National Director residing in Henrico,Va. i express that Board's sincere sympathies to the family and kinfolks of the respected and...

Dear Mrs. Davis,Pam, Karen and Chip;Teri and I are deeply sorry for the loss of Mr. Davis. We go so far back to our childhood and I know there are so many memories since then. Mr. Davis had a wonderful heart and it is evident in how his family has always come together in good times as well as the bad.I especially remember that you all have always been there when our family had an illness or death.Your presence always gave us strength.May god bless you and be with you during this time.

To the Davis family:
I am so sorry to hear about Gus. He was always so thoughtful and so kind. For the children, he was indeed "the Candy Man". My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do.

Pam, Karen, and Davis family,

Sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I never got to meet him but he must have been one heck of a nice guy.

Where do we begin to express how much "Mr. Gus," better known as "The Candy Man" meant to all of us. Not only did we once rent your house but we found our way back into your lives years later at West Main Baptist Church. From his many hugs, sweet treats, kind remarks and sense of humor, we loved Gus like a part of our family. I was shocked to find out today that he had passed away.
With each tear you shed, know that each one is just a symbol of all the many people who loved Mr. Gus. ...

Peggy, Pam, Karen and Chip,
Gus was a wonderful role model when I was a teenager at West Main Baptist Church. Such a gentle man who led by example. He will be truly missed here, but I know he is humble in his new heavenly home. My thoughts have gone to your whole family quite often over the years. You were all so kind to me. God will ease your pain at this time, as you comfort each other. Know that so many people lift you up in prayer. Always remember what a wonderful husband and...

Dear Peggy and family:
The officers and directors of the Virginia Division, Travelers Protective Association of America. send our sincere condolences on the loss of Gus. The more I came to know him during the time he served his community as Post E Secretary and as a Division Director, the more I came to admire him. His upright and soft-spoken manner was an inspiration to many of us and we shall miss him.
