Charlie was a very special cousin to our part of the DAY family. His generosity was great!We visited many times at Lake Maranacook and again in Florida. He saved the day for me when my father died with a hurricane and my Mom was transferred to Brooksville for nursing care. I had no where to go but with the help of other cousins, Ginger and Bill, we were able to stay there until my Mom transferred back to Vero Beach. My sister and I attended Bates College in Lewiston, Maine so we would visit...

Charlie was special to many and to me as well. We had a great time over the years sharing our love of history together, especially the Maranacook Lake region. He never failed to contact me as the summer months approached to be sure we had some time to get together and kindle our friendship. And I often received a random call during the winter months to let me know he was thinking of me and to share information on projects.
