Jane, Charles was in so many ways my mentor, with the loss of him and my Karen, life does not seem fair. Regardless, best to have known and loved them. We are blessed for that.

Jane, thank for your lovely handmade Christmas card that I received today. I was very sad to learn that Charles passed away in November. I didn't know that he had cancer. I'm so sorry, and am deeply sharing the grief of your loss. Charles will be remembered for many things, but mostly for the beautiful force of his strong spirit and love of his family and friends. We, at the Insulinde Club, have lost a friend, our music man, our piano player, our radio man, and a great story teller with the passing of Charles. We will miss him.
You, his family, he adored. He always said that his children were "hemels geluk, heerlijke kinderen". I and the members of Insulinde are saddened by his sudden passing. Please accept our condolences.You will be in our prayers. Connie Johnson

We were so sorry to hear of Charles' passing. Such a class act and such a presence .
