When I joined the graphics staff of the Baltimore Sun (morning paper, then) in the early 1980's, Charles Devaud made me feel welcome and proved to be a wonderful colleague until his retirement some years later. He regaled us with stories of his European upbringing and his activities in the Resistance during WWII. A kind, dry-witted and sincere gentleman who loved his family dearly and honored his adopted country. Paix, Charles.
