Not sure what to say?

I just heard of the passing of Dear Charlie as he was so well known. I want to express my deepest sympathy to you Nancy & all the family. Charlie was a big part of our life at Libertyville Presbyterian Church as we joined the group in campaigning to build the beautiful new Sanctuary as well as so many other events that took place while we were members there. Know that I am keeping you all in my prayers and know that Charlie is looking down on you all, just as my husband Carl is...

So sorry for your loss. My family has been reminiscing with the wonderful memories of his time at Second Presbyterian. My favorite memory was being in the children's choir on the Sundays that we sang. Rev. Dougherty would come down to see us before the service as we were all anxiously awaiting marching up to the sanctuary. He would pray for us and provided plenty of hugs & smiles. He has always been my favorite minister all these years later. Sending prayers of comfort to the family.

Charlie was such a great minister. He married us 38 years ago at 2nd Presbyterian. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep your family in my prayers.

Dear Nancy and family, What a loving pastor and friend to many we have lost. I was always blessed to be in Charlie's presence and the folks at Mattituck often spoke of 'their beloved pastor'. Filled with faith, love, and humor Charlie always delighted and inspired his congregations and audiences. I am grateful to have known him and you. Charlie and you gave such a wonderful loving added foundation to MPC. Much love to you all and thanks to God for one terrific guy. george gaffga pastor...

Nancy, Lynn, and Deb. My heart is breaking for you and your loss, but my soul rejoices that Charlie is with his Lord and Savior. We will be together again, in Glory, in our time. Condolences to all of you.

Dear Nancy and family, I just reread a note from my most treasured memory files. A Thank you from Charlie from July 1986. Beautiful words from a humble servant of God. Words of Thanksgiving and Praise for "The House That Prayer Built." Thank you Charlie for our years in service together. Forever a mentor in our journey.

I loved watching his sermons as a kid he will be missed greatly.

Charlie was such a gifted and inspirational man. He has touched sooooo many lives with his words of faith and guidelines to live a spirit filled life devoted to the Lord. Father In Law to my Brother, and Disciple to His Father in Heaven...he will be missed. Prayers and Love to my Siter in law Deb, and her entire family.❣

Sending our condolences out to the family. Reverend Dougherty married us 43 years ago, baptized our sons and was truly a great minister. We really enjoyed his ministry during his calling at Second Presbyterian Church.
