Not sure what to say?

Charles was a great preacher and storyteller. Our coffee group was enriched by his presence.

We hold dear precious memories of Charlie Duvall. Jerry Pierce (my husband) was a classmate of Charlie's at The Citadel, as well as a fellow Episcopalian. While living in South Carolina in the '80s when I served on the ECW Diocesan Board, I sometimes saw Fr. Charlie....He always asked about Jerry and asked if Jerry was still swimming. (Jerry was the captain of the Swimming Team at The Citadel). Always at Class Reunions, Jerry and Charlie would seek each out to catch up! When we were...

My very deep condolences to Nancy and all Bishop Duvall's family. I was privileged to be UWF's "hostess" at his consecration and also to be photographing the event for St. Christopher's parish paper, and I had never seen such a beaming smile as his was on that day. His tenure was an enormous blessing to the diocese, as was Nancy's--when he retired, some were saying they hoped the new "bishop's Nancy" would be close to as wonderful as Charles's. My daughter loved that on a rainy day he'd come...

Our many wonderful memories of you will live in our hearts forever. Our Diocese is strong today because of your leadership and we will always be greatful for your dedication, love and warm heart. Well done, faithful servant.

He will be greatly missed and was a good Bishop. Prayers for all of the family and friends.

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim...

My most favorite memory of my most beloved Bishop Duvall is using his shepherds crook to pull in a wayward child. He was a wonderful shepherd to us all. I wish for his family to find comfort in knowing he touched and was loved by multitudes. Erin DuBose, St Luke’s, Mobile

Bishop Duvall will always be my Bishop. He was always so very kind & supportive to Carey & I and our community of St. Andrews, Mobile Al. Our memories of him will always be with us. Our heartfelt prayers & sympathy go out to Nancy & family. We love you. Phyllis & Carey Findley

Charles was a man with the calling of following The Lord. He was a natural pastor and a leader who practiced his faith every day. I had the gift of enjoying his sermons at St. John's for the past two years and his great stories. He and Nancy made us feel very welcome. Also for several years we have been members of a well known weekly coffee group, mostly Citadel graduates ranging from the Class of 1942 to the Class of 1972. We dealt with many issues with Charles guidance but avoided resolving...
