Not sure what to say?

I send my sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Ehret. I corresponded with him by email on several occasions and I read his tributes to fallen heroes. I had a chance to meet and talk to him at the 50th reunion of the 87th Division at Ft. Campbell, Ky. My uncle, Sgt. Paul A. deKowzan, served with him in Company L, 345th Infantry. To the family of Charles Ehret: Please know that Joyce and I are thinking of you at this sad time, and accept our deepest sympathy. Although I only knew him a short time I came to admire Charlie greatly. Fellow member of the 87th Division,

Charles, my dearest friend: Altho we were colleagues, and within a few months of age of each other, you were really my mentor in oh, so many areas! You made this world [and MY world] a better place!

To my second father, who always found time to listen and advise with compassion and kindness. You will be greatly missed.

Charlie, my beloved Godfather, it is a time for heavy hearts here on Earth and for rejoicing in Heaven. Be at peace. You were loved.
