Dr. and Mrs. Evans were among the first people we met after we joined Gambrell Street Baptist Church in Summer of 1979. We found them to be gracious and sincere in the warmth of their friendship. We enjoyed the fellowship with Wayne and Zona, and David through the many years that passed. They were the leaders of the Senior Adult Sunday School Department, and I was Sunday School Director. We send our condolences and love in the loss of Wayne. He was a very good friend to us and we will always cherish memories of serving the Lord together through Gambrell Street Baptist Church.
We shared many hours discussing ways to more effectively reach people for Christ and strengthen the church, and also shared common care and ideas for benefit of developmentally disabled loved ones, a blessing we both shared.
