Charley Faulkner was a mountain of generosity when it came to his children´s friends, who were welcomed into his and Charlotte´s world with such warmth. I am his daughter Nica´s best friend from Williams College mid 1980s days when Charley and Charlotte showed up religiously to greet our exhausted crew as came off the water after races in New England. They brought an overflowing trunk of doughnuts, bagels, cookies, apple cider and were so positive about our races that you´d think we won....
