Charles Edward Fiore, Sr.

Charles Edward Fiore, Sr., age 90, of Palm Coast, FL passed away on Monday July 15, 2024 in Palm Coast after a brave battle with Myeloma.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday August 9, 2024 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Blvd., Palm Coast, FL 32164 and a second Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday August 31, 2024 In St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Avenue, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.

Charles was born on April 11, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York to John Fiore & Philomena Tartaglia-Fiore. He graduated from Grady High School in 1952 and went on to serve his country, proudly, as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1952 through 1955 as a machinist. Charles married Margaret “Peg” McGovern in Brooklyn, New York on August 11, 1956. Following his service, Charles began a career that spanned over 25 years as a mechanic for Eastern Airlines. He had been a Palm Coast resident since 2020, coming here from Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. A faithful Catholic, Charles was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served his church as a deacon and as a eucharistic minister. Charles’ interests were varied, he loved spending time with his family, bringing communion to the sick, playing Santa, playing the “Sorry” board game with his grandchildren and going out to eat at his favorite spots. 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, John & Philomena Fiore; his loving wife, Margaret “Peg” Fiore; a brother, John Fiore Jr. and a granddaughter, Laura Fiore. He is survived by his daughters, MaryAnn Fiore-Goldberg (husband, Dale Goldberg) & Christine Fiore; sons, Charles “Butch” Fiore (wife, Suzanne), Gerard Fiore (wife, Vicky) & Joe Fiore (wife, Annmarie); 11 grandchildren, Charles Fiore, Francis Fiore, Nathan Fiore, Timothy Fiore, Helena Martineau, Jessica Fiore-Goldberg, Emily Fiore, Laura Fiore, Joseph Fiore, Nicholas Fiore & Annalise Fiore; 7 great-grandchildren, Levi Fiore, Charlie Fiore, Mathis Fiore, Fletcher Fiore, Thea Kate Fiore, Asher Fiore & Reese Fiore; a sister, Marylou Parise (husband, Sal); a brother, Michael Fiore and a host of extended family & friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charles Edward Fiore’s name to Food for the Poor or Catholic Charities.
