When my parents and I moved to an apartment on South Spring Ave., Msgr. Forst (then the pastor of Resurrection Church), came over to bless it. So impressed was my dad John with Msgr.'s humor and kindness, that he began meeting with Msgr. Forst regularly for help with a serious case of religious scruples, which my dad had anguished over for years. Msgr. Forst was, to my knowledge, the first priest he could freely confide in. Thanks for the help you gave him, Msgr. Forst! May you rest in peace!

Msgr. Forst was a gentle and caring man that loved children and showed the kindness to children while teaching them, when they served Mass or passing them in the halls. He was the example that all priests should follow. He, in turn, was so helpful and caring to all that he met. He understood what it meant to serve others and drew others to him as he practiced it. He was also willing to share his skills with others, carpentry, gardening etc. God has a special place in heaven for this...

I had the pleasure of meeting Fr. Forst at St. Michael's a few years ago. He was very nice! May he Rest in Peace!

I was blessed to have Msgr. Forst as my boss when I went to work at Our Lady of Providence. He was in our classrooms every Monday morning reviewing the Sunday Gospel with our students, big & small. I'll always remember going to his farm to cut down our Christmas tree when my kids were young. I'm lucky to have a beautiful stable that he made for me one year at Christmas time. He was one of a kind and will always be remembered fondly.
