Charles Warren Gaillard

Charlie and I were good friends from the time we both started our careers at General Mills in July of 1966. At the very end of my career, Charlie was President of the company and I was a senior VP reporting to him and that's how it should have been . We had a good time during those two some years because we knew each other so well and trusted each other. Charlie was a very bright, honest executive, and had great integrity. I'm very saddened to learn of Charlie's passing. Our friendship initiated all the way back to old Highland Junior High and Atherton High School from which we both graduated in 1958. Charlie's career path is no surprise -- as he was one of the most talented individuals I have ever known. Our paths didn't cross much after he went to Dartmouth and I to Vanderbilt. But I frequently was made aware of his remarkable career and life.
