Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Charlies passing. My heart is heavy.
He and my father Jack Sanche were very good, even best friends until my dad passed in 2007. Charlie was honored to write his eulogy.
RIP-together with Sara now and forever <3

I had the honor of communicating with Dr. Gardner about lung health advocacy via phone and email, May of 2012, while I was interning for the American Lung Association in Oregon. He was a very charming and intelligent man who never failed to put a smile on my face. Dr. Gardner will be missed dearly.

Dr. Gardner was a passionate advocate for lung health. I got to know him in 2012 through my employer, the American Lung Association in Oregon. We had great phone conversations and email exchanges. He was also a member of our Better Breathers Club in Reedsport when he lived there. He was a wonderful story teller and believed strongly in the importance of tobacco prevention and protecting kids from tobacco advertising. Oregon has lost an important advocate for public health, and a kind man....

When our family first joined Holy Trinity Parish, Charlie and Sara were two of the first people we met. They made us feel very welcome right away. We will be forever grateful for how Charlie helped our two older children become altar server and for all of the wonderful things he did for our Parish.

RIP, Charlie.

With fond memories,

Dear Charlie. What a joy to sing with you in C.A.E. You always made me smile. Lynn (Stacy) Turner

Doc Gee, I loved spending time in your home, growing up with my best friend Betsy. You were my second family. You always had a funny story or joke to share and you made every day an adventure. Much love to you and Sara.

Loved your sense of humor and breezy attitude toward life. Happy travels, Charlie!

Thank you, dear friend for teaching me to lector at Mass, for your funny e-mails and scolding me for not checking Snopes!
We will always remember with fondness the dinners we shared with you. RIP with your beloved Sara,

When I was eight Charlie trained me to be an alter server and made me feel like a significant part of the Mass. I feel honored to have known such a great man.
