Not sure what to say?

Dr Gehrke was a mentor, colleague and hero to me. We first met during my Internal Medicine residency. We later became colleagues when I joined the medical staff of SJMH in 1977. I worked with and beside Chuck in various medical leadership roles and also on chemical dependency issues.

Sharell and all Family members:

I am deeply saddened to learn of Dr. Gehrke's passing but take comfort in knowing how much Life he gave to his patients, both in Oncology and in Addiction Medicine. I was fortunate to work with Dr. G at Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery. He touched so many with his passion for the addiction field... so blessed to have known him!

That picture of him just makes me smile. I worked along side Dr. Gehrke at the old St. Joes. A very respected physician.

Thank you Dr. Gehrke for making this world a better place! God bless you and yours always!

May the almighty bless the memory of Dr. Gehrke forever.

Dr.Gehrke was a kind and thoughtful colleague. He was always available for no nonsense great advice whenever we encountered a complex hematologic problem in the Operating room.

A life well lived.

Sincerely,
Mikio Hiraga, M.D.
