Charles R. "Chuck" Gentry

GENTRY, Charles R. "Chuck" ? Of Swartz Creek, age 80, died Sunday, April 5, 2015 at McLaren-Flint.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Paul Holland, Minister
officiating.

Burial in Crestwood Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of Chevrolet Motor Post #3087 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Swartz Creek Church of Christ.

Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Charles was born in Boaz, Alabama on July 17, 1934, the son of the late Robert and Laura Gentry.

He graduated from Bendle High School Class of 1952 and served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959.

Chuck married Merle Staley on June 11, 1955 in Flint.

He was a member of Swartz Creek Church of Christ.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, yard work and spending time with his family.

Chuck retired from General Motors, AC Spark Plug Division in 1985, after 32 1/2 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #651.

Surviving are wife, Merle;

four sons, Mark and wife Charlene of New Lothrop,
Kevin and wife Susan of Indianapolis, IN,
Keith of Fayetteville, TN,
Eric and wife Carrie of Swartz Creek;

13 grandchildren;
8 great-grandchildren;
sister, Alice Harrison of Flint;
brother, Bill and wife Nancy of Fayetteville, TN;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and his sister.
