Charles Getto

My old friend. It is so sad that he has died. I will not forget the high times we had back in Lawrence.

I just learned of Charlie's passing and wanted to express my condolences. We had several cases together in the early part of my career, and Charlie was always a gentleman and truly professional.

Long time friend since grade school and fellow music lover and also a talented musician. I knew his parents and know his siblings well and also his son Joe. It was always a pleasure to see him when I went back to Lawrence and go out for sushi. I had hoped to meet up at Santa Fe Opera sometime.

My deepest condolences to Charlie's family. I had the chance to work with Charlie some years ago as a young attorney. Charlie handled himself with class, was witty and fun to work with despite the difficult case we found ourselves embroiled in. Proud to have spent some time with Charlie, he was a credit to the Kansas City area bar. I can't help but feel that the impression Charlie made on me in our limited time working together is a testament to his class and character.

Most of my getting to know Charles was through Jim, the consummate storyteller. Through Jim's stories about "Chaz" we learned about salmon, exercise, the opera and Woodstock, just to name a few. Charles was a gentleman, steeped in the practice of law, a skilled trial lawyer, my partner and friend.
