I had the privilege of working with Charlie on the Jeep advertising account in the late 80's. He once submitted an ad idea that showed the vehicle on a cliff, overlooking a herd of bison, with the headline "Shuffle off to buffalo." Sheer brilliance that the rest of us, alas, did not recognize at the time. With every passing year I hold that idea in higher esteem than the year before, and speak of it often as the ultimate "One that got away." Proud to have known you, Charlie.
