I remember going into Goff's as far back as the 1960s. Mr Goff was an important part of our community. It is sad when we lose these folks. His famiy can be proud.

Charles C. "Chad" Goff, 98, passed away on September 10, 2010 at Community Northview in Anderson, Indiana. He was born on February 26, 1912 in Middletown, Indiana and was a Pendleton resident most of his life. Chad was a meatcutter at Goff's Meat Market, Pendleton for many years and later at Preston Supermarket, Indianapolis where he retired following 15 years service. He was a 1930 graduate of Pendleton High School and attended Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pendleton and a 77 year member of Madison Masonic Lodge #44 F. & A.M., Pendleton. He is survived by daughters, Saundra G. (husband, Fred) Ball of Anderson and Deanna Yancey of Lapel; grandchildren, Scott Yancey, Joy Yancey, Chad (wife, Kara) Yancey, Debbie (husband, Brett) Henson, Brenda (husband, Barnes) Vajner, and Bret (wife, Carol) Overdorf; step children, Hugh (wife, Rita) Rider, Byron (wife, Marianne) Rider, and Nadine (husband, Lowell) Bradbury; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; many nices and many nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miles Morton and Blanche ( Ballingall) Goff; wives, Beryl (Ruby) Goff anbd Reba Jane (Rider) Goff; brothers, Floyd Goff, Otto Goff, Bailis Goff, and Ralph Goff; sisters, Mary McCullers, Angeline Graham, and Marthabelle House; son in law, Bob Yancey; and granddaughter, Cheryl Ball Overdorf. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff of Community Northview, St. John's Hospice, and Keystone Woods for their wonderful care of Chad. Services: 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064 with Reverend Dick True officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton, Indiana. Visitation: 5-8 P.M., Monday, September 13, 2010 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064 and will include a Masonic memorial service at 8 P.M.
