Martha, you probably don´t remember me, but I clerked for Charlie while I was in law school at Cumberland in the late 1970´s. He was a great mentor and friend. My condolences.

Dear Gorham family, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. Marilyn Tanner

Martha, my heart breaks for you. I know how much you loved your man. The two of you were sweethearts, then husband and wife and always best friends. You were always there for Charlie right to his crossing over to a much better place. Praying for you, Julie and Charles Jr. So many memories of Charlie will live forever in the hearts of his friends and family.

Charlie was one of our favorite clients with Dixie Court Reporting back in the Frank Nelson Building when I starting working. A fine attorney and gentleman.

Martha,
Charlie was a true friend, partner and life mentor for daily knocks and easy times. I admired him for his commitment to representing his clients , his generosity to mankind and his attachment to the Army. His love for you, Julie and Charles was always present.
Fair Winds and Following Seas.... my friend. Rest in Peace.

Charlie was a great mentor to me and many other young lawyers .
I did not take on divorce work without assurances from Charlie that he would guide me every step of the way .
I observed the dignified and respectful manner he displayed to the lost souls we so often encounter in the practice of law .
Charlie also instilled in me a desire to make the time to get involved in Bar activities...

Martha, Charlie was an outstanding lawyer, Army officer, and friend. He made a positive contribution to both the practice of law and the Army. You can certainly be proud of his service. Major General(Ret) Bill Clark
