Charlie was a delightfully imperfect hero to those of us privileged to study with him. He and Marilyn were very kind to us wet-behind-the-ears eager youngsters. They treated us like the adults we hoped to be. In my mind and heart, Charlie is still quite alive. He pushes gently to get me to be my better person. Still, it's Marilyn's words of wisdom I repeat so often: don't build your expectations on the appearance of other people's lives.

Had no idea that Charles left. A special man and friend since 1965, meeting in his Philosophy of Education class and spent many years as a close friend. Charles did have a unique philosophy about life. Known to have an insistent view of the world, Charles could be just a bit overbearing at times but we spent many fine years going back and forth but truly a very special friend. I will miss him

To the Goss children: I am so sorry to read about the loss of your father Charles and your mother Marilyn. I did not have the opportunity to meet Charles but I did work with Marilyn at an Austin bank in the 1980s and always considered her to be a special lady and lovingly devoted to her children. While it is tough to lose our parents there is comfort in knowing they live on in our hearts.
Kind Regards, Michelle (Peterson) Nite
