Charles D. Grant

WEST COLUMBIA—Services for Charles D. Grant, 84, of West Columbia, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Springdale Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Tommy McGill; burial will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Honorary pallbearers will be the Lonnie Shull Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to Springdale Baptist Church, 357 Wattling Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.

Mr. Grant widower of Mary H. Grant passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2008. Born in Knoxville, TN, he was the son of the late Robert L. Grant and Augusta Idell Grant Sepulveda. Mr. Grant has been an area resident for 45 years, formerly of Spartanburg and a member of Springdale Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher and former Deacon. Mr. Grant retired from the US Post Office and Southern Railroad.

Surviving are his sons and daughter-in-law, Phillip Grant and Mike Grant both of West Columbia, Randy and Wanda Grant of Lexington; three grandchildren, Melanie Grant, Christie Grant, and Cindy Grant, one great grandchild, Jasmine Wiggins; sister, Wanda Glenn of Spartanburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Marsha Grant of Texas, Jimmy and Miriam Grant of Spartanburg.
