Charles H. Hable

Mr. Hable was the principal of Collingdale High School when I was a student. He will always remain in my memory as the man who, because of no PA systems at that time, came into each class announcing that John F. Kennedy was shot.I was in my tenth grade science class at that time. I also had the privilege of working with him in the Springfield School District with the Springfield Education Council in the late 80's. Everyone called him Chuck at that time. Mr. Hable was an administrator at Collingdale HS when I was a student. He stood out as an
intelligent, kind and friendly man when he was dealing with staff or students. Educators like him inspired me to become a teacher. The world needs more people like him and he will be missed way beyond his immediate family and friends. Rest in Peace, Mr.Hable.

Chuck was a truly fine man and a mentor to many. He was a clear thinker who had courage.
