I'm deeply sorry for Charlie's death. I worked with him at the Discovery Bay Yacht Harbor. I was his secretary for 9 years. I moved away to IL., and he moved to FL., I hate that we lost touch. He was one of the most inspiring people in my life back then. The stories he shared with me at my desk I will cherish forever. I still think of him often. So I looked his name up today. Charlie, sir to me, was a compassionate and loving man who traveled the path from Eagle Scout to 3 Stars. A man of phenomenal personality and poise. I was his Aide during that last assignment at the Presido of San Francisco. We traveled throughout the 16 western states visiting countless units. I remember well how he was welcomed at each unit, as if some long lost brother had just returned home. I know of no one who didn't love to have fellowship with him. He could always make you feel...

Charlie was one of a kind. From his hundreds of stories to his infectious smile, Charlie taught me the value of compassion and integrity. He was a proud man- immensely proud of not only his achievements but of his children and his wife, whom he talked about endlessly. Charlie... I'll miss you so much. Thank you for the good times.

I will miss our talks, my friend. I sure am glad I got to know you over the last several years.
