Not sure what to say?

I was one of those people that Chip travelled the SW in a van with. It was while we were at Bucknell. I think about that trip often. Part of that trip, our group hiked to the top of Emory Peak in Big Bend National Park. It was his 21st birthday, and we had hiked 19 miles that day. So on the way back to our lodging, Chip and I got out 2 miles away, and walked the last 2 miles to get 21 miles in for his 21st birthday. Here we are at the top of Emory Peak.

I worked with Chip at the BLM. Always a positive guy, smile on his face, and hard working. Very knowledgeable about the regions geology so he was my go to source for information. I remember sharing stories about High School soccer and meeting up with Chip in Hart Canyon to cut firewood for our winter cache. We helped each other load our trucks. Great time! May God give comfort to the family for a great life lived.

Single Memorial Tree

Chip was integral part of our team in building WB Martin and Associates which help form all of our later life successes. Several stories and Chip was always there to help in or out of the field operations. Best memories was that he adored his family from words and thru actions . RIP

Chip and I were Boy Scout leaders for our sons. He and I spent many hours together on camp outs and projects with our scouts. I enjoyed our time together. Chip was a great man. He will be missed.

Chip, alongside Rebecca, raised my good friend Cass to be the compassionate, thoughtful, quick-witted and awesome human that she is today, and I'm incredibly grateful for that. Chip also looked out for Cass's friends and loved ones. When I was in grad school with Brian (Cass's partner), Chip visited British Columbia to attend Brian's thesis defense. And when I finished up my studies he helped me look for work and believed in me when I had a lot of self doubt. I am sad that I will not have the...

I was lucky enough to work with Chip at the FFO, many years ago. He was always easygoing and had a smile on his face. As a fellow tie-dye and music lover, conversations came easy. I will always remember running into the Harraden family at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and Chip showing us the solar oven where I think cookies were being baked. I thought that was so cool! My deepest sympathies to Rebecca, Dylan, Cassidy, family and friends. May the many memories you have bring you peace.

So grateful for the friendship Chip extended to me. Rebecca, I´m sending much love to all of you.

I worked with Chip at BLM for many years. He was a great guy who was so proud of his wife and kids. I know you'll miss him greatly.
