My deepest sympathy to your family over the loss of Ed. I was his secretary during the 1970s when he was an Agricultural Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He was so educated in the field of agricultural economics and was highly respected by his peers. Ed was such a pleasure to work with, always smiling and good-humored. I am grateful that I was privileged to be helpful to him in his career.

Ed Harshbarger was an accomplished professional who drew from his Illinois farm background in a solid career in public service, first at the Kansas City Fed, then with the Farm Credit Administration. I valued his friendship for 40 years and I will miss his hearty laugh. He fought the good fight and now is resting in peace or maybe assisting the Lord in the fields of heaven.

May you be blessed with courage in order to bear the sorrow you feel at this time. I knew Mr. Harshbarger while he was an officer at the Fed in Kansas City.
