Charles Henson Obituary

Charles Henson MORGANTON Charles Talmage Henson, 78, of Morganton, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, July 20, at Oak Hill United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1 to 3:30 p.m., at the church. The family has entrusted Kirksey Funeral Home, in Morganton, with funeral arrangements.

Dear Barbara, Lisa, and David:

We were deeply saddened by the news of Charles' death. Charles was an individual of extraordinary character and kindness. Our church, community, and county are better places because of Charles' life and exceptional work. And, the Johnny R. Clark family are especially grateful the many years of shared friendship. I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Charles. He was a wonderful man who I was blessed to have known...although I hadn't seen him in a while I had always heard good things from the kids when they were around him. All of you are blessed to have had a Godly husband and Father. He was a true example of what a Christian should be. I pray that God's peace, love and comfort surrounds you during this time. Draw on the wonderful memories you have had and keep them close to your heart during this difficult time. I can tell you it never gets easy losing your Dad...I still miss mine but I have peace knowing he suffers no more and is with Jesus just as Charles is
