Oh, what fond memories of Mr. Hill. Their family came to West Elk when I was in high school. My dad, age 88, speaks highly of him today. He said he had a brand new school paid off. Mr. and Mrs. Hill were so great with all the communities that made up West Elk. I remember seeing him often at the school, and he always had a smile on his face and kind words. Mr. Hill was our principal at Pomona High School, classes of 1964 and 1965. He was fair, compassionate and well respected. It was always fun to hear his stories and remembrances at our class reunions. It was amazing to Ronnie that after 40+ years, Mr. Hill recognized Ronnie's voice from across the room! Our deepest sympathy to his family.

I am the former Helen Pendleton, daughter of the late William B. Pendleton. I was so sad to hear of the passing of Charles Hill. He became a friend of my husband Michael Ambrose and me through his longtime friendship with my dad. Charles helped Dad by doing many chores around Dad's farm on Highway 59 and rental properties, sometimes with his grandson, Jake.
