I vividly remember certain things about Dr. H. He was so caring not only about the patient but about the person. I did not like doctor's when I was younger and once I became an adult he told me I could stay and be his patient as long as I wanted. He offered to bring me in the back door if I felt uncomfortable sitting out front with the children. He smile was so inviting. He will truly be missed. He was my doctor for 20 years. God blessed me with him. My condolence's to his family.

I met Dr. HIrshberg as a new mother in 1964. He was always available, always gave excellent advice, and was a wonderful pediatrician. In 1972 I became his first office nurse and learned so many things from him. He was a remarkable man, always taking telephone calls from his patients as they came in, always willing to stay after office hours to wait for a parent to bring in a sick or injured child, and treating all with excellent care. He will be much missed!

I was saddened to learn that Charles has passed away. Charles and his brother Sam and I were good friends the many years I lived in Nashville. I have fond memories for them both . My condolences to his family. Jack

Dr. Hirshberg was our family pediatrician, and I don't have words adequate enough to describe what he meant to me. As a young mother in the 80s until his retirement, he was a huge part of our lives. He took every single phone call, treated me as well, and opened his office on Sunday if needed. I'm sorry to see this news, although what a wonderful life he had, and changed the lives of so many.
We love you Dr. Hirshberg
Bless all of his family during this time, and may your memories of this precious man live with you forever; they sure will with me.

My life changed and took on new breadth when Doc's son Paul and I became best friends as Junior's at MBA. From my slightly Yiddish and VERY country roots, Doc and Dorothy shared their family's heritage with me; and I knew Doc always got a kick out of my sharing my outdoors-on-the-farm experiences with Paul.
i'll always cherish and now miss his gruff but welcoming greetings when I got chances to visit, both as a kid and later as an adult including with my kids.
His life was a blessing to many many and I'm glad I was one.
